Find the Key to Reliability and Energy Efficiency in rolling element bearing applications
If you are looking for solutions to problems encountered in the lubrication of rolling element bearings in productive process plants? Look no further.
At the OMI, our goal is to provide information on the best use of modern Oil Mist Lubrication. As with many modern technologies, if applied correctly and maintained properly it can substantially increase your productivity and profitability.
Oil Mist Lubrication has proven to be the most efficient, reliable, cost effective way of lubricating rolling element bearings in many centrifugal pumps and electric motors.
Applying Purge oil mist to stored equipment can significantly reduce the effects of false brinelling.
The Vortex method of mist generation is recommended by the European Commission "Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control" Bureau (IPPC) “Reference Document on Best Available Techniques (BATs) for Mineral Oil and Gas Refineries” Oil mist is included in ISO and various API standards and, is used by Foster Wheeler, U.O.P and ICA Fluor Daniels among others.
What is Oil Mist? Oil mist is formed of oil particles 1.0-3.0 microns in diameter suspended in a current of air, with a ratio of 1 part oil to 200,000 parts air which can be used as pure mist for lubrication or purge mist for preservation.
How does it work?
Oil Mist is supplied in the precise quantity to anti-friction bearings to form a 0.1 to 1.0 micron elasto-hydro-dynamic film which separates the contact surfaces.
